With the Point of sale (POS) terminal launched and a check completely populated, selecting the "Pay" button will open another window to accept payment with multiple options on the right for different payment methods. One of the options is the "Recover" button.
When to use the "Recover Button"
In the event that the Clover is prompted for payment and the result is:
payment successful on the Clover but Clubspeed did not acknowledge the payment from the Clover and it times out.
After verifying that the Clover device's transaction history for payment was successful it is crucial that the cashier attempts to retrieve that data from the Clover by clicking the "Pay" button followed by the "Recover" button. This prompts Clubspeed to recover any Clover data related to the check from the device and once it recovers it, Clubspeed will acknowledge the payment as processed, followed by closing the check provided the balance is fully paid for.
We have had cases before where the employee will think the transaction simply just needs to run again. This can cause a double charge to the customer.
