So someone has brought in their shiny new gift card and wants to buy something? Easy Peasy!
Maybe they forgot how much is left on their balance... also, Easy Peasy!
Redeeming Gift Cards
1. Choose the category and item like you would any other time selling something to add the item to the check.
2. Click the Pay button. In the list of payment types there is a Gift Card option. Click that button and swipe the gift card through the black Swiper.
- For online gift cards, you can scan the QR code, or manually enter the number by clicking on the 'Swipe Card' button.
3. This will show you the balance of the card as well as the amount that will be subtracted from the card and paid for on the check. Click OK
4. Close your check (if it doesn't automagically) and you are done!
Checking Gift Card Balance
1. From the Menu on the left, click on Giftcard Balance Credit Summary
2. From the Balance Checking window, either swipe/scan the gift card or click on the field to manual enter the number.
// NOTE
If you click anywhere on the screen before scanning/swiping the card, you will need to click on the Swiper icon to put focus back on that device, or it will not read. The swiper is a keyboard emulation device; it intercepts the signals from the reader and instantly translates them into keyboard strokes. Thus, saving you time from having to manually type in all those numbers!
3. You can now see the balance of the card, but if you also need to see the transaction history, then click on the Balance Total to view!
