How to Create a Regular Item

Regular items are used for products that do not have any special details, or customizations attached to them.

 

Each product type is based on the regular item, and are built with their own special customization which we will cover in each respective article.

 

Examples:

  • Bag of Chips
  • Bottled Drinks
  • Merchandise
  • Events
  • NON-scheduled activities

 


How to Create a Regular Item

// In the /sp_admin 

1. Navigate to the products tab.

2. Select the category you would like to add your regular product in from the drop down on the top-left

3. Select Regular Item from the drop down on the far-right

4. Click 'Create New Product'

5. Enter Product Details

  • Item Name - Name of item to appear in POS & on the customer's receipt
  • New Image - (optional) Upload an icon, just like you did with the categories 
  •  Price- The price you will charge your customer
    •  *Ignore Price 2-5 for now!
  • Cost - (optional) This is your price your purchase them items from your vendor. It is used for inventory purposes 
  • Max. On Hand - (optional) This is the maximum quantity you want to have on hand of the product at any one time. It is used for inventory re-ordering.
  • Is Inventory - (optional) Check this box if you would like to keep inventory of this item
  • Vendor - (optional) you will need to create vendors first here!
  • Taxable - Select the required tax percentage
  • Categories - This is auto filled based on the category you selected in step 2, but you are able to show the same product in multiple categories, or move the product to a new category from here as well.
  • Class - Select the correct Product class that this product needs to be organized under.
  • Member Only? - (optional) If you select this item to be 'member only', then it will require your customer to have the selected membership to be assigned to their profile before they are able to purchase it. More on that here!
  • Is Special? - (optional) This setting allows you to set this item to only be available in the POS at the time days and times, you have set here. If it is not within the specified window, then this item will not show in the POS at all. It will be hidden!
  • Web Shop - Ignore this setting, as our web shop does not require this setting anymore.
  • Contains Alcohol - If you are using our Alcohol feature, and this is an alcoholic beverage, then check this box. If not, then leave it unchecked. Click here to learn more!

6. Click the Floppy disk on the right to save, when done!
