Using the RFID band in the POS

This article will walk you through the basic interactions of the RFID band within the POS including assigning a band to customer's account, searching, adding to queue or check, and much more!

 


// NOTE:

If at any point the RFID is not scanning, please click the card swiper icon in the top right corner then try scanning again. 

This puts the focus back on the swiper instead of the keyboard!

 

Customer Profile

From the customer profile view, you can assign the RFID band to the customer's account.

 

  1. Click “Venue” on the left panel. 
  2. Click the “Add” button. 
  3. Search for customer's name and view profile.
  4. Click the card swiper icon in the top right corner. 
  5. Scan the RFID band. The card number field should be filled in 

 

Add Customer to Queue 

A customer can be added to the queue by simply scanning their RFID band.

 

 

  1. From the POS
  2. Click “Venue” on the left panel. 
  3. Select the correct “Queue” from the drop down list and the “venue” drop down list, seen in the image. 
  4. Scan the RFID band. The customer should be added to the selected queue.

 

 

Customer Search by Band

The customer search screen can be searched by scanning the RFID band 

 

 

1. From the POS 

2. Click “Venue” on the left panel. 

3. Click the “Add” button. 

4. Click the card swiper icon in the top right corner. 

5. Scan the RFID band. The customer should be displayed in the grid.

 

 

Credit Summary by Band 

The credit summary can be generated on the credit summary screen by scanning a RFID band. The credits, loyalty points, and gift card amounts will be displayed. 

 

 

1. From the POS 

2. Click “Menu” on the left panel. 

3. Click the “Credit Summary” on the left panel. 

4. Click the card swiper icon in the top right corner. 

5. Scan the RFID band. The credit summary should be displayed in the grid. 

// The gift card and loyalty information can also be seen on this screen. 

 

 

Purchase Credits with Band 

Credits items can be assigned to the customer’s account by scanning the customer’s RFID band at the POS. 

// There are three ways to assign credits to the RFID band. All three ways do the same thing, so simply choose one way. 

 

 

Assign by Clicking the Check Detail Line Item 

  1. From the POS Module
  2. Add a credit Item to the check. 
  3. There should be one item on the check. Now, click the check line item. 
  4. A popup will appear. The title of the form should say “Edit Check Item”, and there should be a button that says “Swipe Card”. 
  5. Scan the RFID band. The button that says “Swipe Card” should now have the name of the customer that has the band. Click Ok. 
  6. Follow the instructions in the “Credit Summary by Band” section. You should notice that the customer should have more credits now. 

Assign by Scanning RFID Band on the POS

  1. From the POS Module
  2. Add a credit Item to the check. 
  3. Scan the RFID band. 
  4. A popup will appear. The title of the form should say “Edit Check Item”, and there will be a button that says the customer’s name. At this point the credits have been assigned to the customer. Click OK. 
  5. Follow the instructions in the “Credit Summary by Band” section. You should notice that the customer should have more credits now. 

Assign by Clicking Assign in the POS

  1. From the POS Module
  2. Add a credit Item to the check. 
  3. Click the “Assign” button in the center menu of the POS. 
  4. A popup will appear. The title of the form should say “Credit Assigning Wizard”, and there will be a button that says “Please Swipe Card”. 
  5. Scan the RFID band. 
  6. Follow the instructions in the “Credit Summary by Band” section. You should notice that the customer should have more credits now.

 

 

 

Purchase Memberships with Band 

Memberships can be assigned to the customer’s account by scanning their RFID band during the purchasing process.

// There are three ways to assign a membership to the RFID band. All three ways do the same thing, so simply choose one way. 

 

 

 

Assign by Clicking the Check Detail Line Item 

  1. From the POS
  2. Add a membership item to the check. 
  3. Click the check detail line item. 
  4. A popup will appear. The title of the form should say “Edit Check Item”, and there should be a button that says “Swipe Card”. 
  5. Scan the RFID band. The button that says “Swipe Card” should now have the name of the customer that has the band. Click Ok. 

 

Assign by Scanning RFID Band on the POS 

  1. From the POS
  2. Add a membership item to the check. 
  3. Scan the RFID band. 
  4. A popup will appear. The title of the form should say “Edit Check Item”, and there should be a button that says the customer’s name. At this point the membership has been assigned to the customer. Click OK. 

 

 

Assign by Clicking Assign in the POS 

  1. From the POS
  2. Add a membership item to the check. 
  3. Click the “Assign” button in the center menu of the POS. 
  4. A popup will appear. The title of the form should say “Credit Assigning Wizard”, and there should be a button that says “Please Swipe Card”.
  5. Scan the RFID band. 

 

 

 

Purchase Gift Cards and Assign Balance to Band 

The RFID bands can be used as gift cards at the venue. A customer at the venue could spend their gift card by simply scanning their RFID bands.

// There are two ways to load a balance to the gift card on the RFID band. Both ways do the same thing, so simply choose one way. 

 

 

Assign by Clicking the Check Detail Line Item 

  1. From the POS
  2. Add a gift card item to the check.
  3. There should be one item on the check. Click the check detail line item.
  4. A popup should occur. The title of the form should say “Edit Check Item”, and there should be a button that says “Swipe Card”.
  5. Scan the RFID band. The button that says “Swipe Card” should now have the name of the customer that has the band. Click Ok.
  6. Follow the instructions in the “Credit Summary by Band” section. 
    • You should notice that the customer should have a gift card balance now. 

 

 

Assign by Scanning RFID Band on the POS

  1. From the POS 
  2. Add a gift card item to the check.
  3. Scan the RFID band.
  4. A popup should occur. The title of the form should say “Edit Check Item”, and there should be a button that says the customer’s name. At this point the gift card has been assigned to the customer. Click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions in the “Credit Summary by Band” section.
    • You should notice that the customer should have a gift card balance now.

 

 

 

Spend Gift Cards by Using Band 

Before starting ensure that the “Purchase Gift Cards and Assign Balance to Band” section has been completed. 

 

 

  1. From the POS
  2. Add any item(s) to the check.
  3. Click the “Pay“ button. The payment window will appear. 
  4. Click the “Gift Card” option.
  5. Scan the RFID band.
  6. Click OK to accept payment
