Upgrading Firmware Guide (In Progress)

Setup Files

  1. Download the attached file to the server. 
  2. Extract to C:\inetpub\ftproot
  3. Navigate to C:\inetpub\ftproot\wyse\wnos
  4. Right Click wnos.ini
  5. Edit
  6. For File server, enter in the servers local IP
  7. Save

Setup FTP server

  1. If there is already an FTP site DO NOT CREATE ANOTHER ONE USE THE EXISTING!
  2. Open IIS
  3. Expand Server
  4. Expand Sites
  5. Right Click on Sites
  6. Click Add FTP Site
  7. Name it Wyse
  8. Point it to C:\inetpub\ftproot
  9. Click on Wyse on the left
  10. Click on FTP Authentication
  11. Enable Anonymous Authentication
  12. Disable Basic Authentication
  13. Go back to FTP Site
  14. Click on FTP Authorization Rules
  15. Select Add Allow Rule
  16. In the new window select the following:
    1. All Anonymous users
    2. Select read
    3. Select Apply/ok
  17. Restart IIS

Setup DHCP

  1. Open DHCP
  2. Expand Server
  3. Expand IPV4

 4, Right Click on IPv4 and click on Set PreDefined Options...

5. Click on Add

6. Provide a Name, Change the Data Type to String, update the code to 161 and give a description matching the photo below and hit OK:

7. Update the data for the String Value to match the CS Controllers IP Address then hit OK:

8. You are going to do the same thing for FTP File Server Path but instead of code 161 your going to use 162 and the string value will be wyse\$


  1. Expand Scope
  2. Click Scope Options
  3. Right Click in Middle Field
  4. Click Configure Options
  5. Scroll to the bottom
  6. Select FTP Server
  7. Select FTP File Server Path
  8. Apply
  9. OK

Set up the WYSE terminal

  1. Exit out of Club Speed
  2. Try just rebooting the WYSE, it may pull the firmware. 
  3. If it does, skip to Step 9, otherwise, continue. 
  4. Click Start or Desktop
  5. Click System Setup
  6. Either Remote Configuration or Network (Depending on model
    • Remote Configuration
      • Under the General Tab
      • File Path
      • Enter [the server Ip]\Wyse
      • Ex. 192.168.1.1\Wyse
    • Network
      • Click on Server Tab
      • File Path
      • Enter [the server Ip]\Wyse
      • Ex. 192.168.1.1\Wyse
  7.  Once done, reboot they Wyse
  8. If everything is set up correctly, it should be going through a flash update. 
  9. Once complete, it may reboot back to a screen asking for a WYSE password. 
  10. This is normal. 
  11. Continue doing the same process to all other WYSE terminals that need updating.

Finish Set up

  1. Once done with all devices go back to IIS
  2. Click on WYSE
  3. On the Right, Click Stop
  4. Reboot all WYSE Terminals again. 
  5. After they reboot, they will need to be reconfigured with the connection settings. 
  6. You may need to factory reset the device. 
  7. Once the devices successfully connect to the server and they are good, go back to IIS
  8. Right Click on WYSE, Click Delete/Remove. 
  9. Go back to C:\inetpub\ftproot
  10. Copy the WYSE folder back to the desktop.
