Setting a Printer to a Static IP (Manual Process)
Setting a printer to a static IP is done directly on the printer, not on the server. We only update the printer port afterward to reflect the new IP address.
Step 1: Identify an Available IP Address
Before configuring the printer, confirm that you have an available IP address within your network range that is not currently in use.

Step 2: Configure the Static IP on the Printer
⚠️ This step is completed on the printer itself, not on the server.
Because printer menus vary by manufacturer and model, please refer to:

In general, you will:

Access the printer’s Network or TCP/IP settings

Disable DHCP

Manually enter:

Static IP address
-
Subnet Mask
-
Default Gateway
-

Save the settings
-
Restart the printer

Step 3: Update the Printer Port on the Server
After the printer has been assigned the new static IP:

On the server, open:
Control Panel → Devices and Printers -
Right-click the printer

Select:
Printer Properties -
Navigate to the:

Portstab
-
Update the existing Standard TCP/IP port with the new IP

Create a new Standard TCP/IP port using the new static IP -
Apply changes

Print a test page to confirm communication
