Set Customers To New Customer / Waiver & Signature Backup
Set Customers To New Customer / Waiver & Signature Backup
If you ever get a track that is wanting to Set Customers to waiver not signed however they want to keep Old Waivers as Old Waivers and New Waivers as New Waivers you will need to create copies of those waivers and signatures to a new folder. Reason being is because once you Set customers to Waiver not Signed and then have the customer sign their waiver again and it will OVERWRITE the original Waiver there for the old waiver will be gone. Here is a procedure that you can follow that will Copy Waivers/Signatures to a new folder and also take a backup of the V8 Database as well as Change Customers to Waiver not signed.
Please use the following link. There are 2 batch files (Copy & Reset). They can be run at the same time. Copy.bat will copy the waivers & signatures to waiver 1 to the C drive (and create the new directories) in new folders (
CustomerWaiverResetBackup2018 & CustomerSignaturesRestBackup2018). I expect this to take a long time.
After you get that started, you can run ResetWaiverStatus.bat. This file will back up the V8 database to c:\WaiverResetSQLBackUp\ClubSpeedV8Jan2018.bak (and it will create the directory). After that is done, it will create a new table called CustomerWaiverBackUp2018 that will be a copy of the Customers table before the change. This way we have a quick reference if needed and a quick way to revert. After that, it will reset all Customer's status1 to "New Customer" only for customers that was a status1 of "Waiver Signed" or "Waiver1 Signed" (some servers have the Status names different).
When you test, create a new customer and make them sign the waiver. Then run the scripts and verify there is a back up file, and the information in the new table is accurate. Then make sure the Customer table has them as New Customer for status1 & in the POS. Also test anything you think I am missing.
I also want to know how long each batch file takes to finish so we can plan accordingly. First run them in a command prompt in the WaiverFlagReset directory so we can see if there are any errors easier. After we confirm that ran good, we need to set it up in Task Scheduler to verify that it will run without issues. Note, there is a folder "Houston-Bat_Files". These are the bat files that we will have to run @ Houston because of their hard drive issues.
Let me know how it goes. If you run into any issues just let us know, thank you!
