This is for special cases where the customer request access to the owner account of the server to use off-site. Ask management before doing these steps to see if they are ok with allowing off-site access.
Step 1: Verify that RDGateway is installed on the server
- If this is not installed follow this article first. https://support.clubspeed.com/a/solutions/articles/47001104396
Step 2: Move the Owner account to the RDP users group
- Open up Active Directory
- Expand clubspeed.local and click on users
- Open up the Owner user and click on Member of
- Click on add, then enter RDP and hit ok
Step 3: Change local policy
- Press the start button and type in run
- In the run box type in gpedit.msc
- Navigate to computer configuration > windows settings > security settings > local policies > user rights assignment
- Find the setting named allow log on through remote desktop services and make sure Clubspeed\RDP is added (Type RDP and then click the "Check Names" button).
- Scroll down and find the setting named deny log on through remote desktop services
- Make sure Owner is removed from this policy (also make sure "RDP" is not present)
Step 3: Test the Owner account
- Open up RDC
- The computer is the server's IP address
- User name will be clubspeed\owner
- Make sure to set the gateway to servername.clubspeedtiming.com
- The password will be the Owners password NOT the RDP password.
