Product Definition

Printer and KDS routing allows food items to be sent to different printers or kitchen displays based on the category assigned to the product. For example, one printer could be assigned to the beverage category, and another could be assigned to the alcoholic beverage category. This would allow a customer to send food products to a printer in the kitchen, and alcoholic beverage products to a printer in a bar. With the functionality available, there can be multiple printers and displays.

This feature includes the following functionality:

  1. Send food products to different printers or kitchen displays

  2. Configure up to 3 different printers and 3 different kitchen displays through control panel

  3. Tie each printer or kitchen display to one or more categories

  4. An error message when printing is unsuccessful

    1. This includes when the printer is busy or out of paper

  5. Send one product to multiple printers

  6. Kitchen displays and printers can both be used at the same time

  7. Kitchen displays and printers are linked to categories based on the category name(s)

This feature DOES NOT include:

  1. The ability to send one specific food item to a specific printer based on the product, it is based on the category

  2. The ability to send to a different printer based on the point of sale

  3. The ability to send non food products to kitchen printers or kitchen displays

  4. The ability to set more than 3 kitchen displays and 3 kitchen printers

  5. The ability to send to a kitchen display or kitchen printer based on the POS terminal used

    1. E.g. a multi-bar setup where food orders in the bowling area need to be sent to the bowling area bar but food orders placed near axe throwing need to be sent to the axe throwing bar

  6. The ability to route items sent from ClubKiosk. This feature only works when items are sent to a kitchen printer or kitchen display from the point of sale
