How to Update the Public IP in GoDaddy

Applicable to all support agents assisting customers with updating public IP addresses in GoDaddy.

Before You Begin
 Ensure you have the following information before starting the process:

  • The correct/new/updated public IP.

  • Access to the customer’s GoDaddy account.

  • Access to the customer’s server to restart IIS.

Procedure

Log into GoDaddy
 Connect to the GoDaddy account where the customer’s domain is managed.

Locate the Customer’s Domain
 Pick the domain that the customer is grouped under.

Find the Customer
 Locate the customer within the domain’s settings.

Edit the Data Value
 Click the pencil icon and update the data value to the correct/new/updated IP.

Log into the Server
 Access the customer’s server.

Restart IIS
 Restart IIS to help expedite the TTL.

Confirm the Update
 Wait about an hour and verify that the IP update has propagated and is functioning correctly.

Completion
 Once confirmed, the public IP update is complete and the domain should be fully operational.
