Clover device reprovisioning

Clover device reprovisioning

This article gives a background on reprovisioning a Clover devices for one MID to a different MID.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Clover devices can be reused/repurposed (reprovisioned in Clover terms) to be used again if a customer returns Clovers, and then we can go through this process to have them be used for another customer. Or if a business changes hands and a new MID is needed we can get them to be tied to this new MID using this process.

  • Things to note:
    • Reprovisioning voids any warranty on the device
    • This process can also take a few weeks for Clover to get back to us for the process to be ready to reprovision, so if the customer is in urgent need of a device to use, it will be faster to purchase a new one.

Step 1: Where the device is coming from

  • These requests don't get approval from customers, there will be a separate CSM or MS member that these should come from.

Step 2: Merchant Services creates the request

  • Merchant services will need the device's serial number and new MID and send the request to Fiserv/Clover. Fiserv/Clover will return at some point with a case number.

Step 3: Contacting Clover Projects team

  • Once we've received back a case number, then we can contact the Clover Projects team to have them complete the process on their end. We do have to call them with the below information:
    • Case number
    • New MID that the Clover is going to be moving to
    • Business name of New MID
    • Address of New MID
  • Clover Projects info:
    • Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM – 8 PM, EST
    • Phone number: (855)599-4662
  • Prior to calling, we can factory reset the device following these directions to save time so that we can get the device connected to wifi:
    1. Turn the device off and then press the power button to turn it on,
    2. Wait until you see the Clover logo and then hold the power button again until the logo disappears
    3. After a few seconds, the Clover logo will come back up again
    4. Repeat the process until it pops up with a message asking if you want to factory reset
