Barcode Scanner Setup

Initial Scanner Setup

  1. Plug the barcode scanner into the computer using the USB connection.

  2. Locate the Scanner Settings sheet provided by the manufacturer.

  3. Download and scan the barcodes from top to bottom, following the order exactly.
    This configures the scanner correctly for use with the system.

 

You may need to scan the following (or similar from the manual) barcode to have the scanner mimic keyboard key strokes.

Using the Scanner in POS or WYSE Terminals

  • After configuration, the scanner can be connected to any POS or WYSE terminal.

  • Products can be scanned immediately without additional setup on each terminal.


IMPORTANT

Not all scanners have the same software. The goal is to ensure it is programmatically formatted to have leading and ending pipe bars and keyboard emulation.

If you were to scan a barcode, it is critical that it outputs as text in the following format:
|xxxxxxxxxxx|

If the scanner does not have the prefix and suffix pipe bars, then it will not be useable in the Clubspeed software and you may need to refer to your device's manual to enable the prefix and suffix special characters.
