Setting up a WYSE Terminal
Go to desktop > connection manager
New connection > select ‘RDP’
Connection
Description - Name of the RDP session (IE: Club Speed)
Host Names = server IP address
Connection display
Resolution: 1024*768
Colors: True
Check:
- Full Screen
- Auto-connect on start up
- Auto-connect after disconnect (For Old Speed Screens ONLY)
Logon Tab
Username = Reg1/POS1/PIT1
Password = Sp33d... (OR designated RDP password)
Domain = clubspeed.local (OR trackname.local for older servers)
Options Tab
Auto-connect to local devices
Check the following boxes:
- Printers
- Serials
- USB
Leave the rest as is!
Click Okay
Click on Desktop (Bottom-Left corner)
System Setup > Preferences
General Tab
Screen Saver - leave as is
Timer - Set to ‘Disabled’
Change Terminal Name (at bottom) to POS1/Reg1,etc
Click OK
If using a Signature Pad:
System Setup > Peripherals
Select Serial Tab
(some WYSE terminals have more than 1 serial port - ensure it is plugged into the one labeled com1)
Serial port - COM1
Baud Rate = 115200
Click OK
Once this is complete, select your Connection in the Connection Manager, and click Connect! DONE!
Tips and Tricks for Trouble-shooting
Network setup
Desktop > System Setup > Network Setup
Use to see DHCP options, DNS options, etc.
Some hot keys = cntl+alt+up arrow = put in window
Ctl+alt+down arrow = alt+tab in pc
G+power on = factory reset
