Playbook: Vantora - Verifying Guest Email Delivery in Mailgun

Quickly confirm your guests’ emails were sent and opened

 

1. Log in to Mailgun

  1. Open your browser and navigate to the Mailgun dashboard:
    https://app.mailgun.com/app/dashboard

  2. Enter your credentials:

    • Username: support@clubspeed.com

    • Password: Sp33dsh33t

2. Access the Logs Section

  1. In the left-hand navigation menu, expand Sending.

  2. Click Logs to view all email activity.

3. Filter for the Guest’s Email

  1. Click the Date Range selector at the top to set the period you want to inspect.

  2. Click Filters to open the side panel.

  3. In the Recipient field, type the guest’s email address and press Apply.

Tip: If you don’t have the guest’s email, retrieve it from the booking calendar or ask the customer directly.

4. Review Log Entries

Once you apply the filter, the logs table displays rows organized by these key columns:

  • Timestamp: Date and time of each event (e.g., 05/10/25 2:18:53 PM).

  • Event: The mail lifecycle event—Accepted, Delivered, or Opened.

  • Delivery status code: SMTP status code returned by the recipient server (e.g., 250).

  • Delivery status message: Text description of the status (e.g., OK).

How to interpret:

  • A row with Event = Delivered and status 250 OK confirms Mailgun successfully handed off the email to the recipient’s server.

  • A subsequent row with Event = Opened shows the guest opened the message.

You can sort or export these columns to quickly verify delivery and open events.
