Grid Lineups Explained

Grid Types

Balanced - In Event: (This style of gridding is based on points. The system will organize all of the racers based on their points they received for their finishes (either round or event based on which one you select). It will then go down the line and populate each event with the highest points starting in 1st.)

As you run individual rounds that have a scoring tied to finishing positions, each racer will in return receive a certain amount of points. Once you get to usually the semi or final, you can then run the gridding of balanced in event - this is usually used for multiple groups not just one group.

What this will essentially do is take everyone in order of their points, 1st has the most points, 2nd has the next most points, etc. and grid them out fairly among the groups.

So if you have 3 groups, 1st will get pole position in the first round, 2nd will get the pole position in the 2nd round, 3rd will get the pole position in the 3rd round. And then 4th with get the SECOND place start in the 1st round, 5th will get the second place start in the 2nd round, and 6th will get the second place start in the 3rd round...and so on.

Like I mentioned above, this is commonly used in a semi round, so that the top racers all get their fair chance of a decent gridding position to qualify into the final round; other wise if you were to grid by points, 1st would get pole in the 1st round, 2nd would get second place start in the 1st round, 3rd would get third place start in the 1st round...where as maybe 9th place is getting pole position in the 2nd round and 17th is getting first place start in the third round. This is usually a more preferred method for the final races, as the top 8 or so get to race together in round 1, the second 8 in round 2, and so on.

Balanced - Previous Round:

Balanced - Previous Round/ Same Group:

Random: Will randomly grid your racers

Best Lap Time - In Event: Each racers grid position will be based on their best lap time from ALL previous rounds the racer has completed in the event up to that point.

Best Lap Time - Previous Round: Each racers grid position will be based on their best lap time from ONLY the previous round in the event.

Best Lap Time - Previous Round/Same Group: Each racers grid position will be based on their best lap time from ONLY the previous round with the same group they raced with in the event.

Custom -

Finishing Position - Previous Round: Racers will be lined up in the same finishing position they held in the previous round.

Finishing Position - Previous Round/Same Group: Racers will be lined up in the same finishing position they held in the previous round with the same group of people they raced with in the previous round.

Highest Score - In Event: Racers will be lined up based on how many points they scored in the entire event.

Highest Score - Previous Round: Racers will be lined up based on how many points they scored in the previous round compared with ALL racers.

Highest Score - Previous Round/Same Group: Racers will be lined up based on how many points they scored in the previous round with the same group they previously raced with.

Magix Style : This gridding style balances the starting positions in order to be balanced. The system rotates everybody using an algorithm to ensure everybody has the same chances of winning. Something to note with this is if you have 5 racers, somebody could start in 3rd all of the races because the percentage of winning is the same if they start their or rotate.

No Gridding - This means the system will not add any customers to the heat. You will need to enter them manually.

Random - Will randomly assign drivers into heat

Random  - Previous Round/Same Group: Will randomly assign racers and they will remain in the same group they raced with from the previous round.

Starting Position - Previous Round: Racers will be lined up in the same starting position they held in the previous round.

Starting Position - Previous Round/Same Group: Racers will be lined up in the same starting position they held in the previous round with the same group of people they raced with in the previous round.
